About
Just a thirty-something Korean-American guy musing on various topics that might be of interest to anyone fascinated by Asia, America, and Asian-America. I work as a Korean-English interpreter and translator, and I consider my single most worthwhile achievement as having read The Iliad from cover to cover three times–and not because it was assigned in some general ed class but out of genuine pleasure and for personal edification. My second most worthwhile achievement is having played in the $10,000 buy-in World Series of Poker Main Event in 2005. I won a seat in the tourney by winning a $55 online tournament. My most cherished photo might be of me during that tourney looking seriously constipated as the camera caught me pulling off a cold-stone bluff to win a $30,000 pot. My most ambitious goal right now is to pick up on my study of ancient Greek again, so I can finally finish reading The Iliad in its original Homeric Greek. Yes, a truly exciting life, I know.
